Why KMT

Your first 90 days.

Your platform is live within the first week. Over the next three months your team learns by doing: together we set up your emails, forms, campaigns, segments, sales pipeline and more.

  1. Before setup

    Week 0

    Getting the picture

Once the agreement is signed you get an onboarding document. It asks about your website, your domains, the tools you pay for, who sends email and from where, and who should be in the platform.

It gives us the full picture, so what we learn here sets the order of everything that follows.

    What we need from you

The names, email addresses and roles of the people who will use the platform. Three roles to choose from: Client Admin, Marketing Manager, and a read-only Reports Only role.

  2. Days 1 to 7

    Week 1

    Up and running

Your platform is stood up as a single-tenant instance, hosted by KMT in Europe. Analytics, marketing automation and CRM are connected as part of this setup, so they arrive already talking to each other.

Your forms are rebuilt in the platform and embedded on your website, then tested until the right data flows through. Setup takes about a day once your DNS records are in; forms live and tested is usually inside the week.

    What we need from you

Five DNS records for the platform, plus the email-authentication records our sending service gives you, and access to add our tracking code and forms to your website. Plan on about five hours of IT time, total.

  3. Days 1 to 30

    Month 1

    From a blank page

Every tech platform starts as a blank page, and this is as far as many companies get with them. But with KMT, you start filling it in right away: the first month is spent with you on who your customers are, what you want them to do, and which campaigns to run first.

Your contacts come across from wherever they live today. Grep’s library is written with you at the same time, so it knows your business, your customers and your goals before your team asks it for anything.

    What moves over

Contacts always, with their company links. Forms are rebuilt. Analytics is replaced, and from launch on every visit is counted, not a sample. Data that would only clutter the new system stays behind. If your sales team loves its CRM, it can stay and join the picture, though Grep cannot access an outside CRM, so its reporting relies on what syncs back.

  4. Days 31 to 90

    Months 2 and 3

    Your team, running it

Your team builds the first campaigns and learns the platform with ten hours a month of guidance from a senior marketing technologist at KMT. We move as fast as your marketing person can.

An experienced user will fly. Someone with some experience gets help keeping the first campaigns simple and effective. Someone new will lean on Grep, which is what it is for. Decisions made along the way are recorded in Grep’s library, so the platform gets more specific to you every week.

    Your team’s time

Plan on about ten hours a week from your marketing person for the first several weeks. After that it is their call. As the owner, expect to be involved only when you want to see what has been done.

  5. Onward

    Day 91

    Running it yourselves

By now, everything should be configured. Your team is using the platform: building emails, running campaigns, reading the numbers.

Grep is the first place they turn with a question. KMT is the second, if you want it: guidance can continue at five or more hours per month with a senior marketing technologist, or ad hoc when something comes up. Rates are on the Pricing page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do we know the KMT Stack is right for us?

Before anything is installed, we talk about your business as it is today. If the KMT Stack is not the right fit, we’ll say so and tell you what we think would be. Nobody here has a quota.

How long does it take to get started?

Your platform is usually live within the first week after your DNS records are in: analytics, marketing automation and CRM set up and connected, and your forms working on your website. The three months after that turn it into your marketing system, and your team works in it with us from the start, learning as they go.

Is it 90 days for every business?

Ninety days is a good estimate for most businesses. Every business is different and starts at a different place in its marketing, so your first conversation with us is where we set your own plan. Some teams move faster, and some want a guide alongside them for longer. Either way, the platform itself is usually live within the first week.

What do we need to provide?

The names, email addresses and roles of the people who will use it. Five DNS records for the platform, plus the email-authentication records our sending service gives you. Access to add our tracking code and forms to your website. Plan on about five hours of IT time in the first week, and about ten hours a week from your marketing person for the first several weeks.

What moves over from our current tools?

Your contacts come across with their company links, from wherever they live today. Your forms are rebuilt in the platform and embedded on your website. Analytics starts fresh at launch, and from then on every visit is counted, not a sample.

Can we keep our current CRM?

Yes. If your sales team loves its CRM, it can stay: qualified leads pass to it from marketing automation, so it becomes part of the same picture. Grep cannot access an outside CRM, which is why we recommend the CRM included in the KMT Stack.

What does KMT do during the first 90 days?

Ten hours a month with a senior marketing technologist, working alongside your team. We work out your core audience and strategy with you, build the first campaigns alongside your team, and write Grep’s library with you so it knows your business. We move as fast as your team can.

What happens after day 90?

Your team runs the platform, with Grep as the first place they turn with a question. If you want more help, guidance can continue at five or more hours per month with a senior marketing technologist, or ad hoc when something comes up. Rates are on the Pricing page.
